The translation of "Mambo Dinamico" is "Dynamic Mambo". We named our dance company this way because it's the best way to describe our dance style. "Mambo" which is the style we dance and teach and "Dinamico" which means "1. Relating to physical force or energy. 2. Marked by usually continuous and productive activity or change" accordingly to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

Mambo Dinamico is a project that Joy Manning and Norberto "Betto" Herrera started informally in February of 2002. At the time, there was no mambo on2 instruction on a weekly basis in North Carolina. Joy and Betto took it upon themselves and started teaching a free weekly class on Sunday nights at Montas International Lounge.

With the constant support of Roberto and Pilar Montas (Montas Lounge owners), they developed the most successful salsa night in the Carolinas with an average of 70 dancers each Sunday. Joy and Betto have introduced the majority of dancers in North Carolina to mambo on2 style.

In August 2003, they integrated two of their most promising students, Samantha Fernandez and Omar Clinton, into their group, Mambo Dinamico. Together, they performed in events such as the "Salsa For You Dance Social Second Anniversary Party"-October 2003, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune's "Hispanic Heritage Festival"-October 2003, "Fiesta de la Salud", Durham-October 2003, "Raleigh International Festival"-November 2003, and "Salsambo Christmas Bash"-December 2003.

In March 2004, Betto completed his four-year commitment to the United States Marine Corps and moved to Raleigh to devote more time and energy into the dance company. Betto's love for teaching led them to create "Mambo Dinamico Dance Company" registered as such with the City of Raleigh and the state of North Carolina. Being able to teach more classes during the week, they recognized the potential talent encountered in their classes day by day. As a result, "Mambo Sabroso" was created. "Mambo Sabroso" is a student dance team with members trained under Betto's instruction.

Mambo Dinamico and Mambo Sabroso perform challenging and creative routines to please all audiences. Their enjoyment for the dance is obviously shown every time they step on the dance floor. In addition, they form a family that enjoy and respect each other.
