To
benefit from a diversity of learning schemes, she took lessons
from both Milton Cobo and Betto Herrera for a year, and
never missed an opportunity to social dance. In addition
to attending local events, (Raleigh-Durham, Greensboro and
Charlotte in NC), she traveled to Washington D.C, Atlanta,
Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, the Caribbean and France,
where she experienced great salsa scenes, which highly contributed
to her development as a salsa/mambo dancer.
Because
of her good understanding of technique and a quest for perfection,
she progressed rapidly, and at the end of her first year
she joined Mambo Dinamico's student performance group. Since
then, she has proved a true dedication to it. She performed
locally with the group (Charlotte Salsa Congress, Durham
International Festival, and Boston Salsa Congress in 2004).
In 2005, she started teaching beginners' mambo classes,
where she has been communicating both her technical skills
and her passion for this dance.
Alex
is delighted with where this dance company has taken her;
Mambo Dinamico is to her more than just a great dance company
with great instructors, it is also a family where friendship,
trust and support develop. Alex is now a total salsaholic
and cannot spend more than a couple of days without dancing,
always seeking for improvement and above all to have fun!!
